Introducing Newport Chiropractor Dr. Timothy D. Ehn

Dr. Timothy Ehn

After suffering from severe migraines as an adolescent and getting such good results from chiropractic care, Dr Ehn developed a firm belief in and an appreciation for chiropractic care at an early age.

"I wanted to do something in the field of science. I was interested in how structure is directly related to function and was leaning towards engineering," says Dr Ehn.

After taking advanced engineering courses, Dr Ehn discovered he was a people person. "I was literally bored in my engineering courses. I thought there must be something else out there," says Dr Ehn.

Since having such a great experience from chiropractic care, Dr Ehn changed his mind and took a break from the academics.

"I was interested in becoming a chiropractic physician or a medical physician so I decided to get experience in both."

Dr Ehn worked at Regions Hospital (formally known as St. Paul- Ramsey Medical Center) in St. Paul, MN, in the kidney dialysis unit and at Marty Chiropractic of Edina in Edina, MN. Both experiences were of tremendous benefit.

"I learned how the body's structure directly relates to how it functions."

Since the experience, Dr Ehn was leaning more towards chiropractic which focuses on the natural healing of the body.

Dr Ehn began his chiropractic education, with his pre-chiropractic requirements at the University of Minnesota and the University of Wisconsin. There he studied basic pre-professional courses with an emphasis on the basic science courses such as inorganic chemistry, organic chemistry, biology, along with basic physiology and anatomy courses. Dr Ehn earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Human Biology.

After completing his course of study, he was accepted into the graduate program at Northwestern College of Chiropractic in Bloomington, MN. During his four years of studies at Northwestern, courses included biochemistry, a major emphasis on anatomy and human physiology, x-ray, diagnosis, chiropractic adjusting techniques and patient care in the Northwestern College Public Clinic Program.

"Every three months," continues Dr Ehn, "the staff and I attend various seminars to keep up with the latest research and newest developments in the chiropractic profession. That keeps our skills in top form."

The purpose of our office is to educate and adjust as many families as possible towards their best health through natural chiropractic care. Dr Ehn has helped thousands of area residents regain their health since opening his Newport practice in 2002.

Dr. Ehn Asks some important questions of interest to Newport residents - Chiropractor Newport Dr. Ehn Asks...

Why are frequent visits advised when starting chiropractic care?
Consistent visits at the beginning of your chiropractic care help create the momentum necessary to correct and retrain unhealthy spinal patterns. Later, Newport patients find that continued care on a less frequent visit schedule can help preserve their progress and avoid a relapse.
Are aches and pains good or bad?
While aches or pains may be unpleasant, they're merely warning signs. As a Newport chiropractor, I see this all the time. The pain is not the problem! It just means a limitation has been reached and something needs to change. That's when we get to work correcting the underlying cause.
